Cruise Destinations Alaska
When choosing an Alaskan cruise, there
are basically two different cruise routes from which
to choose.
Alaska's Inside Passage - This
corridor between Puget Sound and Skagway is an unforgettable
cruising experience. Departing round trip from Vancouver,
your ports of call typically include a selection of
Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, Sitka, Hubbard Glacier,
Tracy Arm or Glacier Bay. Inside cruises are typically
7 to 10 nights.
Northbound or Southbound Gulf
of Alaska Cruise- Northbound is a one-way
northbound itinerary - embark in Vancouver and end
your cruise in Anchorage, Seward or Whittier. You'll
sail the Inside Passage and explore the many majestic
glaciers of Alaska. Ports of call often include Ketchikan,
Sitka, Skagway, Haines or Juneau. Your main highlights
may also include Hubbard Glacier, College Fjord,
Glacier Bay or Tracy Arm.
A Southbound Alaska
cruise is the reverse of the Northbound cruise experience.
These are typically 7 day cruises.
Now kick up your cruise options a notch
by choosing an Alaska cruise tour.
These land and sea cruise packages feature more than
the
sites
and
ports of either an Inside passage or a northbound or
southbound cruise. An Alaska land & sea cruise tour
also features overnight land excursions and adventures
as
well. Tour
the Tundra
Wilderness and relax at the lodge, take a rail tour
where you'll see the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad,
cascading waterfalls and jagged peaks. Or, you can
go urban and shop in Fairbanks. Cruise tours feature
holidays as long as 18 days.

to offer. Our cruise experts can arrange the cruise

Alaskan Vacation Activity Ideas
While cruising Alaska, there are many
activities and sites to see while on shore.
Your
activity choices are endless - from fishing to Ecotourism,
from cultural experiences to
shopping. Alaska offers a wide range of opportunities
for fun and adventure while on your cruise. Many cruisers
choose activities before and after the cruise. These
activities might be Carnival's White Pass Railroad
trip concluded by kayaking in a clear alpine lake or
even touring internationally. You could even tour renowned
Vancouver, British Columbia, which offers shopping
and cultural arts.
Fairbanks - Visit Gold
Dredge No. 8. This is described as either a floating
workhorse or a mechanical gold pan. In the National
Historic District, it serves as a monument to the hard
working miners who built Fairbanks. If you are traveling
with kids, they will get a kick out of Alaskaland -
a Native cultural-themed park. The kids also might
like trying their luck by panning for gold at El Dorado
Gold Mine.
Whitehorse Yukon - Visit
MacBride Museum which features thousands of artifacts,
photographs, and specimens. There are also presentations
that take you through Yukon history. Admire the beauty
of Swan Haven Interpretation Center where you can observe
the thousands of swans, geese, ducks, and other waterfowl.
There are many beautiful places to see in Whitehorse.
Glacier
Bay - Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve
is one of the few places in the world where you can
get "up close and personal" with a tidewater glacier
and see a variety of marine life including whales.
Vancouver, British Columbia -
The Capilano Suspension Bridge is a 450-foot historic
walking bridge that overlooks towering evergreens below.
The nearby park offers hiking trails, history and forestry
exhibits, a carving center, and Native American dance
performances.
Chinatown is one of the largest Chinese
settlements in the world and was declared a historic
district in the late 1970s. Chinese architecture can
be seen throughout the area as well as the Dr. Sun
Yat-sen Garden. Another famous site in Vancover is
Stanley Park which is a 1000 acre site consisting of
ocean beaches, the harbor, Douglas fir and cedar forests,
and a great view of the North Shore mountains.
